The little saga

The family Janier are famous for their cheeses and everything started thanks to their grandfather: Clément-Félix JANIER. He is from Jura and exactly located in "Les Janier", in a small place called Piards, close to Prénovel. He has been traveling many times with his cart and horse to Lyon with his cheeses: "Compté". He renewed the journey couple of more times with great success, that he started to wonder of moving to The Gaules Capital for good. His last travel was memorable, first because of the amount of cheeses he carried that time but also because he moved there with his family and everything he had.

Later on Noël'son: Maurice, who also fell in love with the cheese industry when he was a kid, joined the family business. He was the only child and therefore he was really close to his father, already when he was 6 years old. He helped him turning the cheeses around in the cave, helped him in every conditions and situations and we can still see that today with this blue apron. He left school after he obtained his BEPC when he was 15 years old in order to work with hisfather during the week. He had the chance to live with his parents so during weekends he had to work to earn some money with clients or friends. Noël at some point decided to send his son for an internship with differents of his suppliers. Thanks to those experiences, he learned successfully how to make the famous "Bleus d'Auvergne" and "Camemberts". Gradually, Noël and Maurice started buying for good.

This modest story was then completed (still is today) by thousands of new things learned daily with passionate people, but also with facinating books: which will settle the company's future and who knows maybe the transmission to a fifth generation.
